A Conversation at the Intersection of Social Justice, Advocacy, & Mental Health

This course will provide relevant information for mental health professionals who are interested in expanding their awareness of what social justice and advocacy looks like. Frameworks of advocacy within intrapersonal, interpersonal, and systemic/institutional settings will be explored. Attendees will review pertinent ethical codes and mandates and discuss current ethical imperatives for increased knowledge and understanding in relation to social justice, advocacy, and working as accomplices when combatting inequities that marginalized communities face. Attendees will leave with a better understanding of how to work in solidarity with marginalized communities as well as what they can do currently to support local Idaho movements.
